Meet the Cougars New GM Mark Lamb Thursday

PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars are inviting the public to their next Select-A-Seat event on Thursday, July 26th, at the CN Centre, as they have a chance to meet the Cougars new General Manager Mark Lamb.

The public will have a chance to meet the new GM and ask him questions in a Q & A setting in front of Section Q on the concourse from 6:00-6:30 pm.

Lamb was named the Cougars' sixth GM in franchise history in June, after a thorough search by Cougars ownership. After a 15-year playing career at the professional level, which includes winning a Stanley Cup with the Edmonton Oilers in 1990, Lamb started his coaching career as an Assistant Coach with the Edmonton Oilers in 2001-2002. He then moved onto the Dallas Stars, spending six years (2002-2009) behind the bench as an Assistant Coach.

He was named the General Manager and Head Coach of the Swift Current Broncos in 2009, a position he held until 2016. He then spent one season (2016-17) as the Head Coach of the Tucson Roadrunners, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes.

"This is great opportunity for the public to get an inside look at the hockey operations of the Prince George Cougars," said Manager of Broadcasting & Media Relations Fraser Rodgers. "We want our passionate fan base to feel more connected to the team and we feel this is a step in that direction."

This Thursday's Select-A-Seat event is from 4-8 pm at the CN Centre, as those interested in season memberships can test drive seats for the upcoming 2018-2019 season.
