Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Former Cyclone Don Biggs, former Mohawk Billy Goold and retired Cincinnati Post reporter Bob "The Bear" Queenan will be the special guests Monday, February 10 on "Mighty Ducks Primetime," the weekly radio show of the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings in Cobblewood Plaza in Forest Park.
Biggs, Goold and Queenan will be among the first group of inductees for the Cincinnati Hockey Hall of Fame that will be located in Cincinnati Gardens.
On-ice ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday, February 15 during the first intermission of the Mighty Ducks game with the Philadelphia Phantoms.
Biggs spent seven of his 15-year professional career wearing a Cincinnati Cyclones uniform. During his career in Cincinnati, Biggs played in 458 games for the Cyclones, recording 147 goals and 297 assists for 444 points with 730 penalty minutes. He ranked first on the now-defunct IHL Cyclones career leader list in games (426), goals (137), assists (275) and points (412).
Goold spent his entire five-year professional career in Cincinnati with the IHL Mohawks, tallying 111 goals and 255 assists for 366 points in 302 games. Goold was a member of four consecutive Turner Cup championship teams (1953-54 to 1956-57) and led the Mohawks in scoring twice (1953-54 and 1956-57). He posted career-bests in goals (32), assists (62) and points (94) in 60 games for the Mohawks in 1955-56.
Queenan began his career with the Post in 1968. He began his hockey reporting as beat writers covering the Swords (1971-1974), the most successful modern-day (post 1970) hockey team Cincinnati has seen and its only American Hockey League Calder Cup winner. After the Swords were declared inactive due to the arrival of the WHA, Queenan continued to cover hockey for the Post, reporting on the WHA and CHL Stingers, CHL Tigers, ECHL-IHL Cyclones and AHL Mighty Ducks over the past four decades.
Mighty Ducks broadcaster John Cannon will host the show. Dennis Hasty, Don Helbig, Cathy White and Jim - The Voice of the Common Fan - are along for the ride as part of the "Mighty Ducks Primetime" cast.
The general public is welcome to ask questions. The show runs from 7-8 p.m. EST and can be heard live on flagship station WCKY 1360 (AM). Fans can also listen to the show via the Internet by visiting www.homer1360.com.
Fans who cannot be part of the live audience but still wish to participate may do so by phone by calling (513) 749-1360 with their hockey questions.
