
Flames Recall Langager from Johnstown, Sign Manzano, Boutin and St. Pierre to PTOs

Saint John, NB â The Saint John Flames announced today that they have recalled 22-year-old defenceman Jay Langager from the Johnstown Chiefs of the East Coast Hockey League. The 6'1", 190 lb native of Loreburn, Saskatchewan, who began the season appearing in 2 games with Saint John, has appeared in 45 games with Johnstown collecting 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) and 32 penalty minutes.
The Flames also announced today that 25-year-old defenceman Ian Manzano, 23-year-old right wing Sam St. Pierre and 26-year-old left wing J. F. Boutin have been signed to Professional Tryouts.
Manzano began the season with Johnstown and has collected 10 points (1 goal, 9 assists) and 26 penalty minutes in 28 games with the Chiefs. The 6'1", 190 lb native of Dorval, Quebec has also appeared in 22 contests with the Flames this season recording 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists) and 23 penalty minutes.
Boutin began the season with Johnstown and currently leads the Chiefs in scoring with 54 points (18 goals, 36 assists) and 136 penalty minutes in 45 games. The 5'11", 193 lb native of Fleurimont, Quebec also appeared in 15 AHL games during his career recording 6 points (1 goal, 5 assists) and 16 penalty minutes.
St. Pierre began the season with Johnstown and ranks third among Chiefs in scoring with 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) and 30 penalty minutes in 40 games. The 6'1", 200 native of Laurierville, Quebec was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 7th round, 185th overall, in the1997 NHL Entry Draft.
All four will be available for the Flames contest this evening with the Lowell Lock Monsters. Game time is 5:00 pm (Atlantic). All Flames games are broadcast live and can be heard at 96.1 NewSong FM in Saint John or on the web at www.newsongfm.com.
The 2002-03 season marks the Saint John Flames' tenth as a member of the American Hockey League and as the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.
