Lakewood, NJ:Hagerstown had 12 men come to the plate in a seven run third inning on Wednesday afternoon in New Jersey to propell them to a 9-5 win over the Lakewood Blueclaws. The Suns (11-3) are in first place by a game and a half going into their first off day of the season on Thursday.
Hagerstown finished their first road trip by winning their fourth game in seven tries. They took the three game series 2 games to 1 over the Blueclaws (3-11), and are 5-1 overall against their Northern Division rivals this year.
Aaron Hathaway went 4-4 with a walk and run and his first RBI of the season in the game. Hathaway is 6 for 6 with a walk and three runs scored in his last seven plate appearances. Wilson Batista also added two hits and two RBI's in the Suns 14 hit attack.
Starter Jose Sanchez notched his third win of the year with 5 1/3 inings of nine hit, five run baseball. It wasn't as good as his first two outings, but Sanchez still got his league lead-tieing third win. Tim Worthington pitched 2 1/3 middle relief shutout innings, and Carlos Muniz got his third save with a scoreless final 1 1/3 innings.
