A Playoff birth, a passing record, a rushing record and an attendance record all within reach during Friday's game.

Friday night's game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Ottawa Renegades at Ivor Wynne Stadium could bring some big moments.

Milestones that may be reached Friday night:

A PLAYOFF BIRTH! The Tiger-Cats will clinch a play-off berth with a win over Ottawa. The Play-off birth will be the first in three seasons, and the first under rookie head coach Greg Marshall and new owner Bob Young.

50,000 PASSING YARDS! Danny McManus currently is 299 passing yards away from becoming only the third quarterback in CFL history to pass for 50,000 yards in their career (Damon Allen and Ticats GM Ron Lancaster are the others).

RUN, RUN, RUN! Troy Davis is 54 yards behind breaking the Hamilton Tiger-Cats All Time Rushing record set by Gerry McDougall (1957-1966) of 4,270. Davis is also only 240 yards behind Jimmy Williams single season Ticat rushing record.

A QUARTER MILLION FANS! With a crowd of 28,680, the Tiger-Cats will surpass 250,000 fans for the 2004 regular season for the first time in franchise history. With the additional tents, 29,220 tickets will be made available for sale to the game. As of Wednesday October 13th, less than 2000 tickets remained. Other promotional events that fans can look forward to at Friday's game include:

2 TICATS LEGENDS IMMORTALIZED! The Tiger-Cats Wall of Fame will have two new members after Friday's game. Defensive End Grover Covington, the CFL all time leader in sacks will be inducted as well as former CFL commissioner Jake Gaudaur

FAN APPRECIATION DAY presented by AM 900 CHML: More than 25 prizes will be awarded during the game to lucky fans. Seat locations will be selected at random.

MOHAWK COLLEGE DAY. Mohawk College and the Ticats have teamed up. Students from Mohawk will be on-site and participating in several in-game activities. Among them the Mohawk Choir will be singing the National Anthem.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released linebacker Jason Lamar. "It is unfortunate that things didn't work out with Jason this year. But, for the betterment of the team and in Jason's best interest, we felt this was a move we had to make." Said Head Coach Greg Marshall.

The Tiger-Cats resume practice Saturday morning at 10:15am. Coach Marshall will be available to the public at 11:30am. No player availability is scheduled on Saturday. Sunday is a day off for the entire team, with full practice and media availability resuming Monday.
