Big Inning Sinks Dust Devils
July 3, 2018 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
An early deficit proved to be too much to overcome for the Tri-City Dust Devils (9-9) on Monday night as the team lost 4-2 to the Boise Hawks (9-9). Aldemar Burgos had a hit in the bottom of the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.
The Hawks did all of their damage in the top of the second inning, scoring four runs off of Tri-City starter Angel Acevedo. The Dust Devils quickly cut Boise's lead in half. Owen Miller and Grant Little hit back-to-back doubles with two outs to drove home Tri-City's only two runs of the game in the bottom of the third inning. The Dust Devils would be held quiet at the plate the rest of the night, only getting one runner aboard over the final six innings.
Right-hander Henry Henry will start the rubber match of the five-game series on Tuesday. The Hawks will counter with right-hander Jeffri Ocando. There will be a postgame fireworks show Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium presented by U.S. Linen & Uniform. Tickets are still available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
