BATTLE CREEK, MI- A five-run seventh inning propelled Battle Creek to its first win of 2012, as the Bombers held on to defeat the Lakeshore Chinooks 7-6.
Battle Creek took three walks in the decisive seventh inning, and the big hit was provided by Jeremy Shay, who laced a two-run double to deep left field. Chad Jasman (Michigan, 1-0) picked up the win in relief, pitching two and two-thirds innings of shutout baseball. Pat Borlik (Western Michigan) came on in relief of Kenton San Miguel (Central Michigan) and recorded the final two outs to notch his first save.
Casey Mulholland (Ole Miss) gets the call in tomorrow's rubber game in the series finale. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m. from C.O. Brown Stadium.
