Laredo Bucks News Release
LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League announced Wednesday that Jeff Bes has been named captain of the 2008 Southern Conference All-Star team. Bes was chosen team captain by Marco Pietroniro, the Southern Conference head coach. Bes will captain the Southern Conference All-Star team next Wednesday, January 16th at the Broomfield Event Center.
Former Buck Brent Cullaton, now with Rocky Mountain, was named captain of the Northern Conference all-star team. Bes and Cullaton are former line-mates that helped Laredo win two President's Cup Championships in 2004 and 2006.
The honors have been steady for Bes this season, while not only being named an all-star captain and starter, he has also been voted CHL player of the week twice, including this past week.
Bes currently leads the CHL in scoring, with 55 points (22-33=55). Bes' 22 goals are also tops in the league.
Bes will join teammates Serge Dube and Dustin Traylen in Colorado for the all-star game, as all three were voted starters for the Southern Conference. Traylen, who is on the 14-day injured reserve, received special permission from the CHL to appear at the all-star game.
The Bucks look to improve on their CHL-leading 25-8-2 (52 points) record this weekend when they host the Arizona Sundogs and the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.

*HARDER TRADED TO OKLAHOMA CITY, OTHER BUCKS NOTES*
The Bucks also announced Wednesday that they have traded rookie defenseman Tyler Harder to Oklahoma City for future considerations. The two teams made the trade last week, but it became official Wednesday, the day Harder arrived in Oklahoma City.
Harder had been in Laredo for the last week, even attending the Bucks games, as he waited for the trade to become official.
This season Harder played in 22 games, scoring one goal, with 69 penalty minutes. His 69 PIM's ranked Harder third in the CHL among rookies. Harder's lone goal came in the Bucks 5-0 win over Rio Grande Valley on November 27th.
Harder was on the 14-injured reserve list from November 4th to November 23rd, and hasn't played in a game for Laredo since December 22nd against Austin.
Harder's Blazer debut will likely be this Saturday when Oklahoma City hosts Corpus Christi, while he will get to face his old team when the Bucks and Blazers meet in Oklahoma City on January 18th.
