Benjamin Propels Nuts to 3-2 Victory

Stockton, CA. - Trailing in the eighth, the Modesto Nuts completed another dramatic victory in their 3-2 triumph over the Stockton Ports on Wednesday night at Banner Island Ballpark.

With the victory, the Nuts (56-46; 23-9) extend their winning streak to eight games and complete their road trip a perfect 7-0. In every game on the trip, the Nuts either took the lead or tied the game in the seventh inning or later.

On Wednesday night, the Nuts trailed by a run entering the eighth. In the final game of a three-game series against the Ports (54-49; 15-17), Michael Benjamin, Jr. cracked a go-ahead two-run homer off reliever Taylor Thompson (L, 0-2) to give the Nuts their first lead of the game.

Matt Carasiti (S, 14/16) tossed another perfect ninth inning.

Devin Burke (W, 2-1) pushed his scoreless streak to 15.1 innings with 2.1 frames out of the bullpen.

Antonio Senzatela started for the Nuts and worked 5.2 innings allowing two runs on six hits with six strikeouts and only one walk.

The Nuts come home on Thursday night to start a four-game series against the Visalia Rawhide.
