Former All-Star Hamilton Tiger-Cat linebacker BEN ZAMBIASI is on his way into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame!

Zambiasi was among four players and one builder formally announced today, who will be inducted into Canada's football shrine during Induction Weekend 2004 in Hamilton, Ontario, September 30th through October 2nd.

Ben Zambiasi joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a linebacker midway through the 1978 season. His rookie season with the Tiger-Cats was exceptional! He was named the Most Outstanding Rookie in the Eastern Division in 1978 and also received Eastern All-Star and CFL All-Star honours. He was named CFL All-Star six times, Eastern All-Star eight times and won the Schenley Award for Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 1979. Zambiasi played in four Grey Cup games and was on the Tiger-Cats winning team in 1986.

In 1988, Zambiasi joined the Toronto Argonauts and played his final season of an eleven year career in the Canadian Football League as a member of the Toronto Argonauts. In 1999, he came back to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a special teams/linebacker coach.

Ben Zambiasi was born in Valdosta, Georgia in September 19th, 1956. His collegiate career was with the University of Georgia. He was selected South Eastern Conference All-Star in 1976 for the Georgia Bulldogs. In 1978, Zambiasi was the tenth round draft choice of the Chicago Bears of the NFL in the 1978 American College Draft. He joined the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a linebacker midway through the 1978 season.
