Ben Feenan Signs with Tri-City
December 10, 2019 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Tri-City Americans News Release
KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 15-year-old left defenseman Ben Feenan to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.
"Ben had a tremendous training camp with our hockey club this year, where he was the fitness award winner for our prospects," stated Tory. "He is a skilled defenseman who skates well and has an offensive element to his game."
The Langley, BC native was selected by the Americans in the sixth round (121st overall) of the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. This season he is playing for Yale Hockey Academy Midget Prep in the CSSHL. Through 18 games the 6-foot, 160-pound defenseman has totaled 11 points (2 goals and 9 assists) and 6 penalty minutes.
"Ben was the first defenceman we chose in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft and we knew at the time we were very fortunate to still have the opportunity to select an elite defender like him to lead our future defense corps and augment a strong 2004-born forward group." stated Americans Assistant General Manager and Head Scout Roy Stasiuk. "Ben is a big, strong and mobile defender who plays a complete two-way game, and more importantly, plays a solid team game not a me game. Bob Tory and I have always placed a big emphasis on good people overachieving and character before ability."
