Prince George Cougars News Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club, in partnership with Northland Dodge, are excited to announce details for the annual Teddy & Toque Toss in support of the Salvation Army, one of the most anticipated and popular annual events in Prince George.
The Northland Dodge Teddy & Toque Toss is at 7:00 pm on Saturday against the Victoria Royals. The Cougars highly encourage everyone to purchase tickets in advance, or early on game day, to avoid missing the start of the game.
All fans who attend Saturday's game are encouraged to bring a new or gently used stuffed toy and or warm winter clothes (coats, toques, socks, blankets, and mittens) to the game. When the Cougars score their first goal, you are invited to throw your bagged donations onto the ice! All items will be distributed to people in need over the holidays through the Salvation Army in Prince George.
The Cougars store will also be selling bagged clothing items for just $5 per bag starting at 6:00 pm on Saturday, if you're in need of a donation item to throw for the Teddy & Toque Toss.
Cougars' Vice President, Business Andy Beesley says there is a plan in place for everyone to participate, "No matter where you sit in the CN Centre, you'll be able to toss your items onto the ice as soon as we score. Our end zone nets will quickly be pulled up, and everyone can join in the fun."
"We encourage everyone to put their items in a plastic bag before tossing onto the ice, to keep everything dry and in great shape and ready to be donated," said Beesley.
Tickets for the Northland Dodge Teddy & Toque Toss start at just $13 and are available at www.ticketsnorth.ca
"The Salvation Army and The Prince George Cougars celebrate a long history of Teaming Up For The Community. Through partnerships in the community, like the partnership with the Cougars, the Salvation Army is able to bring hope and a bright Christmas to hundreds of families right here in our community that might otherwise go without a joyful Christmas," said Major Neil Wilkinson with the Salvation Army in Prince George.
"The Teddy Bear Toss has become a long-standing tradition that serves as a venue for the giving spirit of our community teaming up for the children of Prince George."
One lucky fan will be going home with what is sure to be a huge Christmas bonus. There is an unclaimed Cougars 50/50 Society prize of $4,373 from the Cougars' game on November 9th. This amount will be ADDED to the prize pot at the Teddy & Toque Toss game, meaning the lucky 50/50 jackpot winner on Saturday will win TWO jackpots! The regular 50/50 draw that night, plus the $4,373 bonus draw!
Family Packs are on-sale. Get four tickets, four regular fountain pops, and a large family popcorn valued at $97 for just $60!
