Bellhorn, Dumatrait Win Bats Monthly Awards

Louisville, KY - Infielder Mark Bellhorn and LHP Phil Dumatrait have been named Hitter and Pitcher of the Month for April for the Louisville Bats.

During the first month of the season, Bellhorn batted .284 (19-67) with six doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI, 14 walks and nine runs scored. He leads the Bats with a .415 on-base percentage and is tied for the team lead in RBI and eight multi-hit games this month.

Bellhorn, 32, was signed to a minor league contract January 22, 2007. The Major League veteran was a key member of the 2004 World Champion Boston Red Sox and has over six years of Major League service time.

Dumatrait went 4-0 and posted a league-leading 0.63 ERA in five starts for the Bats during the month of April. He has allowed two earned runs in 28.2 innings pitched this season.

This is the second straight season the 25-year-old Dumatrait has been in a Louisville Bats uniform. In 16 games (15 starts) last season, he went 5-7 with a 4.72 ERA in 87.2 innings pitched.
