
Bees Shut Out For Second Day In A Row

Burlington, IA (April 29, 2009) - The Burlington Bees opened their six-game home stand with a 9-0 loss to Peoria Wednesday night. With the loss, the Bees have been shutout two days in a row.
Sam Runion got the start for the Bees and looked good in the early going. Runion did not allow a run in either of the first two innings. Peoria then got on the board in the third inning scoring four runs. Two of the runs scored in the frame were off a Kyler Burke two-run homerun. Peoria scored one more run in both the fourth and fifth innings before Runion left the game. Runion took the loss to move to 1-3 after allowing six runs on ten hits with one strikeout and two walks.
Justin Garcia pitched three innings for the Bees. He allowed one run in his first inning of work and then settled down. In three innings, he allowed one run on two hits with three strikeouts. Barry Bowden pitched the ninth allowing two runs on two hits.
The Bees had six hits in the game. Fernando Garcia had two of them in his first appearance of the season.
