Burlington, IA (June 11, 2007) - The Burlington Bees (26-37) erased an early 4-0 deficit on their way to a 6-5 victory over the Peoria Chiefs (30-33) at Community Field tonight. The win snaps the Bees' seven-game losing streak and ends a streak of eight straight losses to the Chiefs at Community Field going back to July 15, 2005. The Bees tied the score in the third. Chris McConnell led off with a single and two batters later, Brady Everett launched a home run over both walls in left field for a 4-4 score. It was Everett's sixth home run of the season. In the fourth inning, Jeff Howell singled and O.D. Gonzalez doubled to knock Cuevas out of the game. Donnie Walters took over in relief and gave up a double to Derrick Robinson that drove in Howell with the go-ahead run. Walters then walked McConnell to load the bases before getting out of the jam. Walters walked through three innings and left after allowing a leadoff single to Mertins in the seventh. With Alex Maestri on in relief, Mertins stole second and third.
