Becker Wins Goalie Mask Design Contest
Published on February 5, 2008 under Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
All kids were encouraged to visit the Blades website or get an entry form at Blades home games to receive their mask design templates and, from there, colour their goalie mask design for eventual judging. The Saskatoon Blades received a very strong response and narrowed the list down to the top five finalists.
Using the poll on www.saskatoonblades.com, the Blades left the final voting up to their fans as well as the general public and, after nearly two weeks of voting, Johnathan Becker's design was determined the winner with 1,205 votes out of a possible 2,357 votes.
Becker's mask design will now be custom painted by a professional painting artist to eventually be worn by Braden Holtby or Garrett Zemlak in a home game this season. Johnathan will then be presented with the mask for him to keep as the winning designer in this season long competition.
Congratulations to Johnathan and thank you to everyone who took part in the voting process.
