
Beavers Lose Fourth Straight

PORTLAND, Ore. - Robb Quinlin had two RBIs and John Snyder (3-1) pitched seven solid innings, allowing one run and striking out four, as the Salt Lake Stingers handed the Beavers their fourth-straight loss by the score of 4-1 before 2,914 Wednesday at PGE Park.
Salt Lake (20-24) got on the board in the first inning when Quinlin scored Chone Figgins on an RBI single, making it 1-0. Figgins had two of Salt Lake's four stolen bases on the night.
In the third, a Gary Johnson RBI triple scored Durrington, putting the Stingers up 2-0. In the bottom half of the inning, the Portland (26-21) got on the board after Mendez scored on a fielder's choice.
Salt Lake would add two more runs in the fifth, giving them a 4-1 lead and the eventual win.
Dennis Tankersley got the loss for Portland, giving up six hits and four runs in 6.2 innings while striking out ten.
