May 22, 2003 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Sidewinders News Release
Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Byung-Hyun Kim left his Tucson rehab start after 4 innings on Wednesday after straining his left hamstring running out a sacrifice bunt. Kim gave up 3 runs in his 4 innings but left with a 4-3 lead in a game that saw the lead change hands five times.
Tucson took over the lead for good in the 7th after trailing 7-6. Chad Tracy hit a bases loaded single to right that plated Jeremy Ward and Luis Terrero. Brian Gordon followed with a double that scored Matt Kata and Tracy to extend the lead to 10-7 Tucson. Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Stephen Randolph, also on a rehab assignment, threw a perfect 8th and Jose Valverde closed out the 9th for his 3rd save of the season. Jeremy Ward (1-1) picked up his first win of the season while 51s reliever Rodney Myers (3-1) took the loss.
Tucson will try to win their third in a row Thursday, when they send LHP Chris Capuano (2-0, 3.93) to the hill to face Masao Kida (1-0, 0.73).
