Bangor Lumberjacks News Release
Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks are proud to announce that manager Kash Beauchamp will lead the World All-Star team at this year's Northeast League All-Star Game on July 29 at La Stade in Quebec City, PQ.
Beauchamp earned the honor by leading the Lumberjacks to the Northern League East Conference Championship series last year, when the club was in Glens Falls, NY.
This season, the All-Star game will pit the World Team, comprised of the league's best players born outside of the United States, against the league's best American born players.
The World team will include players from Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, Japan, Australia, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Canada.
"Kash did a great job last season and really deserves the honor. A sign of a good manager is that his team gets better as the season goes on. Kash got the most out of a young group of players," stated Lumberjacks General Manager Curt Jacey.
"Anytime you get an opportunity to manage an all-star team, it's a big honor and a privilege. This is my third one, and I am just as excited about this one as I was with my first, especially with this new format," said Beauchamp. "I think it will make for an interesting game."
The game previously had the best talent from the North Division playing the best from the South Division.
The Jacks return to Mahaney Diamond on Friday, July 4 for a 5 PM doubleheader with the Allentown Ambassadors. It's UniFirst hat giveaway night. All season, 10 pack and 5 pack ticket holders will receive a Lumberjacks hat courtesy of UniFirst. Hats will also be given out to the first few hundred fans through the gate. Gates open at 4 PM. Tickets are available by calling the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at 207-947-1900 or by stopping in the Lumberjacks Pro Shop located in the Bangor Mall.
