Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY looks to close out the week with two wins in three games as the Albany River Rats come to call at GIANT Center. The Rats have lost 18 consecutive games to the BEARS since March of 2004. Tonight's game is the sixth of eight meetings between the two clubs.

The BEARS dropped a 4-2 decision Friday in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers despite a season-high 54 shots on goal. Bridgeport goaltender Wade Dubielewicz tied a Sound Tiger franchise record by recording 52 saves to earn the victory. Dubielewicz originally set the franchise record January 20 against the BEARS at GIANT Center. The loss did not hurt HERSHEY in the standings Friday night. Portland defeated the third place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 2-1 at Wachovia Arena Friday, while the River Rats defeated the Norfolk Admirals 4-2 at Norfolk Scope.

Tomas Fleischmann has scored six goals in five games this season against Albany, tied with Quintin Laing for the team lead this season against the Rats. Frederic Cassivi is expected to draw the start in goal tonight for HERSHEY. Cassivi sports a 1-0 record against Albany in 2006-07. He is one of three goaltenders for HERSHEY to record at least one victory against the Rats this season. Maxime Daigneault is 3-0 this season vs. Albany, and Daren Machesney is 1-0.

The night on ice Saturday in the East Division features the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at home against Lowell, the Philadelphia Phantoms in Hamilton to face the Bulldogs and the Binghamton Senators in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to face the Penguins. Norfolk is at home against the Portland Pirates in a game at 7:15 p.m. Saturday as well.

Saturday is Central Pennsylvania Public Libraries night at GIANT Center, with the first 4,000 fans through the gates receiving a free magnetic notepad. It's also Singles Night following the game. The first 150 singles 21 and over will be admitted to the club lounge after the game, with live music, kareoke and games provided. Tickets for the game are still available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911. The game can also be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM, 1490-AM and 960-AM) beginning with the pregame show at 6:40 p.m. John Walton and Pete Vandermeer have the call of the action.
