Hershey Bears News Release

Number one in the East faces a challenge from number two in the East as the BEARS host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins tonight at 5:00 p.m. The Penguins have not lost a game in regulation this season. HERSHEY enters action tonight as Wilkes-Barre's closest competitor, ten points back of the first place club.

The BEARS picked up reinforcements for the game late Saturday night when Washington assigned forwards Brooks Laich and Graham Mink. Both are expected to be in the lineup today for the 5:00 p.m. faceoff, and both players are expected to be recalled following the game back to Washington for Wednesday's game against Nashville.

Saturday night, Wilkes-Barre won for the 20th time this season without a regulation loss, downing the Norfolk Admirals 3-2 at Norfolk Scope. The BEARS rallied from two different three-goal deficits to force overtime, but had to settle for a point in a 5-4 shootout loss to Syracuse at GIANT Center Saturday.

Tickets remain for tonight's game at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR. Tonight's game is being broadcast live on 100.1 FM WQIC, 1490-AM WLPA, on the internet at Pennlive.com and video of the game is provided by B2 Networks through HersheyBears.com. John Walton has the call of the game beginning with the pregame show at 4:40 p.m.
