Baysox, Thunder Cancelled
August 21, 2011 - Eastern League (EL1)
Chesapeake Baysox News Release
Trenton, N.J. - Sunday's game between the Baysox and the Thunder was cancelled due to rain after the completion of four innings. Any stats recorded in the game do not count as the game was never completed. The Baysox will not make up the game and will play 141 games this season.
With a record of 69-57, the Baysox remain in second place in the Western Division, but are now a half game behind Harrisburg after the Senators lost Sunday. The Eastern League determines playoff eligibility considering only win-loss record so with the cancelled game, the Baysox simply will have one fewer game played in the standings.
Monday, RHP Oliver Drake (1-4, 6.32) takes the mound for the Baysox as they return home for three games against the Akron Aeros. His opponent will be LHP TJ McFarland (9-7, 3.87).
The Baysox return home Monday, August 22 for a three game home stand against the Akron Aeros that includes Mutt Monday, August 22, Tailgate Tuesday, August 23 and Baysox for a Buck Night Wednesday, August 24.
