
Baysox Sunk By Defenders For Second Straight Loss, 7-6

(Bowie, MD) - A day after being dealt their worst loss in franchise history, the Baysox couldn't shake the Defenders, dropping their second straight game, 7-6. The Baysox were pigeonholed again, as they had to overcome a 4-0 deficit.
The Defenders were paced by two first inning runs and two runs in the third, including a Tyler Von Schell homer.
Jeff Fiorentino connected for his 15th home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth, putting the Baysox behind by only three, 4-1.
The Baysox would cut the Connecticut lead to 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth. Matt Cepicky slapped a ground rule double over the wall in left-center, scoring Nolan Reimold and moving Jeff Fiorentino to over to third. Morgan Clendenin then hit an RBI groundout scoring Fiorentino, to cut the lead to, 5-3. Bryan Bass would then bloop a single into shallow left, scoring Cepicky from third, putting the Baysox to within one run at, 5-4.
The Baysox would tie the game up in the bottom of the seventh on a Luis Jimenez single to left-center, scoring Luis Montanez tying the game at, 5-5.
The Defenders would bust up the tie in the top of the eighth, when Carlos Sosa doubled to center field off of reliever Felix Romero, over the head of Luis Montanez, scoring Julio Cordido and Todd Jennings, for a 7-5 Defenders lead.
Brian Anderson came on to replace Ryan Sadowski in the ninth and the Baysox would get to within a run, when Bryan Bass connected for his 11th home run of the season to lead off the inning, getting the Baysox to within, 7-6. But Oscar Salazar would pop out for the second out of the inning. Anderson then got Nolan Reimold, to pop out for the final out of the ballgame, sealing the victory for Connecticut, 7-6.
Brian Anderson converted his 29th save of the season in the victory. Felix Romero took the loss and dropped to (2-7) on the season.
The Baysox wrap up their 2007 season on Monday taking on Connecticut in the final game of the homestand at 2:05 pm.
