Mobile BayBears News Release
MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, led most of the way in a 5-3 victory over the Mississippi Braves Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium in front of a crowd of 3,616 fans for Pink in the Park Night.
Kaleb Cowart (1-0) earned the win in his professional pitching debut. He got out of a jam with runners on second and third in the top of the fourth to keep the game tied 4-4. Cowart retired the first three batters he faced before issuing a two-out walk in the fifth to end his outing.
Jesus Castillo allowed just one run on two hits with six strikeouts over the next four innings. He departed with one out remaining in the game, and Adrian Almeida picked up the save in his first appearance of the season.
Bo Way had his second two-hit game of the week and scored two of the BayBears (8-12) five runs. Connor Justus put Mobile in front 3-2 with an RBI double off Jeremy Walker (0-2) in the fourth, and Mobile added two more runs courtesy of a Mississippi (9-10) fielding error in the fifth. Walker pitched the final 6 1/3 innings of the game for the Braves but took the loss.
