BayBears Toss One-Hit Shutout in Series Finale against Biloxi

BILOXI, Miss. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, held the Biloxi Shuckers to just one hit in a 2-0 victory Wednesday night to wrap up the four-game series at MGM Park.

Jeremy Beasley (4-5) faced just one over the minimum in six hitless innings. He issued a pair of walks and struck out six batters.

Joe Gatto kept the no-hit bid alive, but Michael O'Neill started the ninth with a single off Dario Beltre. However, Beltre retired the final three batters to earn his fifth save.

Jhoan Urena scored both runs for the BayBears (33-49 overall, 6-8 second half) on a Brandon Sandoval single in the sixth and a solo home run in the eighth. Urena finished just a single shy of the cycle.

Trey Supak (8-4) took the loss for Biloxi (47-37, 6-8) despite allowing just one run in a six-inning start.

The BayBears begin a six-game home series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Thursday at 6:35 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Zack Kelly (1-3, 3.52 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Edward Cabrera (1-0, 4.50 ERA) for the Jumbo Shrimp.
