
BayBears Stunned by Generals in Series Opener

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, let a four-run lead slip away and dropped the series opener to the Jackson Generals 8-7 in walk-off fashion Thursday night at the Ballpark at Jackson.
Zach Gibbons went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple in the first, a two-run double in the seventh, and two runs scored. Michael Barash also had a multi-hit game, with his fifth home run of the season to lead off the second.
The BayBears (48-40 overall, 11-9 second half) let a 3-0 lead and a 7-3 lead slip away. After a four-run Mobile seventh, former BayBear Jamie Westbrook tied the game with a two-out grand slam for Jackson (47-43, 8-13) in the bottom of the eighth.
Josh Prince hit a one-out triple off Ralston Cash (1-1) in the ninth. Daniel Robertson drove in pinch-runner Jose Vinicio with a walk-off single to left-center field.
The BayBears continue the five-game road series against Jackson Friday at 6:05 p.m. CDT.
