MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, rallied from a 7-2 deficit to defeat the Jackson Generals 9-7 in front of 3,493 fans Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Jo Adell helped lead the charge, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run for the second consecutive game. Erick Salcedo also contributed with a three-run dinger in a four-run fifth inning, cutting Jackson's lead to 7-6. Jahmai Jones tied the game with an RBI double off Justin Donatella (3-1) in the sixth, and Bo Way drove in Jhoan Urena with a seventh-inning double to put the BayBears (28-42 overall, 1-1 second half) in front.
After the Generals (40-32, 1-1) scored seven runs in the first four innings, the BayBears bullpen tossed five scoreless innings and allowed just one hit. Isaac Mattson (2-1) earned the win, working three hitless frames and striking out five batters. Ryan Clark recorded his sixth save, retiring the side in order in the ninth.
Seven Mobile starters had multi-hit games, combining for a season-high total of 16 hits.
The BayBears continue the five-game home series against Jackson Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Luis Madero (3-3, 3.79 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Joel Payamps (1-2, 3.86 ERA) for the Generals.
