BayBears Roll Past Jumbo Shrimp with Big Sixth Inning

MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, used a four-run sixth to pull away from the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 7-2 Monday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Jeremy Beasley (5-5) tossed five scoreless innings to earn his second straight win. Beasley has pitched 13 consecutive scoreless frames and has not allowed a run in the month of July.

After going 3-for-4 Sunday, Jhoan Urena led the BayBears (36-51 overall, 9-10 second half) with another three-hit game. He drove in a pair of runs and scored one. Jahmai Jones also contributed in the four-run sixth with a two-run single.

The BayBears tagged Daniel Castano (1-1) for five runs on 11 hits. Jacksonville (39-50, 10-9) scored a run on a wild pitch in the sixth and plated another in the ninth.

Adam Hofacket tossed the final three innings to earn his fifth save.

The BayBears wrap up the six-game home series against Jacksonville Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. Right-handed pitcher Zack Kelly (1-4, 4.04 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Edward Cabrera (2-0, 2.25 ERA) for the Jumbo Shrimp.
