Mobile, AL- Rico Washington drove in three runs and Bobby Scales had three hits as Mobile (14-18, 53-49) won its second straight from Tennessee with a 12-1 blowout Wednesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Tennessee starter Mike Wodnicki (0-3), released earlier this season by the BayBears, held his former club hitless through three innings. The BayBears jumped on Wodnicki in the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead. The big hit came from pitcher Roger Deago, who doubled home a pair of runs with two out. Wodnicki would allow eight runs over four innings.
Chad Ehrnsberger gave Tennessee (13-19, 52-50) a brief lead with a solo homer in the third against Deago (1-1). Deago retired 11 of the last 12 batters he faced.
The third game of the four game series is Thursday at 8:05 EDT. Tennessee RHP Jeremy Cook (5-3, 4.65) will start against RHP Mike Thompson (6-0, 3.20).
