Bats Stifled against Richmond

Richmond topped the Senators 4-0 Tuesday night at The Diamond in Richmond. Harrisburg had six hits in the first four frames but couldn't push a run across as the Sens were shut out for the second consecutive game.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Mario Sanchez was fantastic in his six innings of work even though he took the tough luck loss. Mario struck out nine and allowed two runs on four hits.

Jhon Romero pitched the seventh inning allowing two runs, one earned while allowing a double and hitting two batters.

Bryan Dobzanski pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning including a strikeout.

WITH THE GAVEL

Corban Joseph had two hits to lead the Sens charge.

Cole Freeman had a leadoff single in the first but was left at third.

Jakson Reetz doubled, his seventh double on the season, but was left at second in the eighth inning.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators were shut out for the seventh time this season. It was the third time in five games they were shut out. They've gone 22 consecutive innings without scoring a run. Tuesday, they went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

The Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels play game two of their six-game series Wednesday night at The Diamond in Richmond. Game time is 6:35 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:15 p.m.
