Frederick Keys News Release

The Keys jumped atop Myrtle Beach early Monday night 3-0 after a two-run Brandon Snyder home run in the third inning but could not hold on as they could not register a hit after the fifth inning in a tough 4-3 loss in Myrtle Beach.

The Keys took the lead in the second inning when 3B Billy Rowell singled to left field scoring RF Brandon Tripp to give Frederick an early 1-0 lead.

In the third inning the Keys got the big blast. After CF Danny Figueroa was robbed of extra bases by a diving catch by Myrtle Beach CF Gorkys Hernandez, 2B Miguel Abreu laced a single. Quickly following Snyder launched his eighth home run of the year, over the left field seats to put the Keys up 3-0.

The lead was not enough however as the Pelicans chipped away. Down 3-1 in the fifth inning they used four consecutive singles to tie the game. In the seventh inning Myrtle Beach got a two-out RBI base hit from 3B Eric Campbell to take the lead for good at 4-3.

The series continues Tuesday July 22nd at 7:05 p.m. from BB&T Coastal Field with Tim Bascom (3-3, 5.89) atop the hill for Frederick.

The Keys return home for a weekend series with Potomac Friday July 25th at 7:00 p.m. It will be a fireworks night at Harry Grove Stadium following the contest. For tickets contact the Keys Box Office at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or purchase online at frederickkeys.com.
