Bast Named Sportsman Of The Year
May 22, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Moose Jaw, SK. --- Jason Bast is known as a scoring force on the ice, but his ability to show sportsmanship and humbleness is what sets him apart and makes him the CHL Sportsman of the Year.
Jason Bast took home the Sportsman of the Year award at this year's CHL Awards hosted in Brandon, MB at the Memorial Cup. Jason was nominated along side Ryan Spooner of the Peterborough Petes and Mike Hoffman of the Saint John Sea Dogs.
Bast was named Most Sportsmanlike player on the Warriors 09/10 team and also took home the Brad Hornung Trophy (Most Sportsmanlike) during the 2009/2010 WHL Awards held in Edmonton.
Bast will continue on with his hockey career next year at St. FX in Nova Scotia as an X-Man. Without a doubt St. FX fans and coaching staff will be fortunate to have a player of such class join their organization. The Moose Jaw Warriors are extremely proud of their former captain and forever fan favorite, Jason Bast.
