Amarillo - The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings had one runner picked off and two more caught stealing in a 6-4 loss to the Amarillo Dillas tonight at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa.

The Dillas (42-31) got on the board against Juan Peralta (2-4) in the bottom of the first. Keanon Simon led off with a single and moved to second with the ball was bobbled in centerfield. One out later, Carlos Figueroa hit an RBI-single to make it 1-0.

With one out in the bottom of the third, Terrance McClain reached on an infield-single and Trent Lockwood walked. Andrew Wong followed with an RBI-single to make it 2-0.

The Dillas got three unearned runs in the fourth. Willie James hit a grounder to shortstop that was bobbled by Joaquin Rodriguez to get on board. Simon followed with a single and Stantrel Smith followed with a grounder to short that Rodriguez couldn't handle, allowing Smith to score. Figueroa followed with an RBI-single and McClain grounded into a double play to score Smith making it 5-0.

The WhiteWings (35-39) responded against Taylor Allen (5-3) in the top of the fifth. Brian Nichols led off with a double, Juan Melo hit an RBI-triple and Welinson Baez hit a sacrifice fly to make it 5-2.

In the bottom of the seventh against Jose Fragoso, McClain led off with an infield-single, stole second, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a sacrifice fly by Wong to make it 6-2.

Albert Ayala took over for the Dillas in the top of the ninth. With one out, Nichols walked and Melo hit his second home run of the season to make it 6-4. One out later, Juan Cabrera drew a six-pitch walk, and after Ayala fell behind Justin Holloway 2-and-0, Andy Nonnan came in to get Holloway to pop out to end the game. It was Noonan's fifth save.

The WhiteWings and Dillas play game three of this four-game series tomorrow night at 7:05. Left-hander Carlos Artiles (2-3) is expected to face left-hander Dustin Taylor (3-6).
