Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that forwards Joe Basaraba and Steven Hodges have been reassigned to the club from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).
Basaraba (BOSS-uh-rah-bah), Florida's third round selection in 2010, came out blazing for the Cyclones this season by notching eight points (3g, 5a) in his first four games. He was then reassigned to the Rampage, where he logged ice time in 20 games and tallied a single assist. Prior to going pro, the 22-year-old skated in a total of 148 collegiate contests with the University of Minnesota-Duluth and amassed 56 points (28g, 28a) over a four-year span - helping the program capture the NCAA Championship in 2010-11.
Hodges, a 20-year-old forward, will make his first trip to the ECHL after beginning his pro career in San Antonio this season. Through 22 games, Florida's 2012 third round selection had posted a pair of points (1g, 1a) and four penalty minutes. He spent five seasons in the WHL with the Victoria Royals and Chilliwack Bruins - contributing 157 points (75g, 82a) in 247 amateur games.
The Cyclones will be back on the ice at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday, January 14 when they play host to the Evansville IceMen! The first 1,000 adults through the gates will receive an exclusive Cyclones t-shirt. Plus, all fans 21+ can enjoy $1 beers all night long! Call 513.421.PUCK to secure your seats and for more details. Fans can also get the latest team updates throughout the season on Facebook, Twitter (@CincyCyclones), and Instagram!
