ROUND ROCK - Philip Barzilla's comfort zone continued to expand at The Dell Diamond on Saturday, where the left-hander picked up his fourth straight win and his fifth overall at home.
Barzilla, 28, scattered six hits and allowed just one earned run over seven innings of a 3-1 win over Memphis that helped Round Rock solidify its second-place position behind Albuquerque in the Pacific Coast League American Southern Division.
Stephen Randolph closed out his third save, walking one and striking out four over the final two innings. Randolph struck out the side in the ninth, moving his strikeout-to-walk ratio 37:5 for the season.
Barzilla (6-1) has allowed just two runs over his last 14 innings and is 5-0 with a 2.04 earned run average over eight appearances at home. He has picked up decisions in five of his last six home starts and limited the opposition to a .208 batting average at The Dell Diamond.
On Saturday, he fell behind in the fourth inning after the Redbirds jumped out to a 1-0 lead with three hits, but Round Rock responded against right-hander Mike Parisi.
Eric Munson led off the bottom of the frame with his 17th double, sending a drive into the gap in right-centerfield. Cody Ransom followed up with a single and Jesse Garcia evened the score one out later with a single past shortstop Brendan Ryan.
Josh Anderson pushed the Express ahead with a follow-up single that gave Ransom his 22nd run of the year. Bruntlett singled and scored on another Ransom single in the sixth, giving Round Rock a 3-1 advantage.
First pitch for Game 3 on Sunday is set for 2:05 p.m. The game can be heard live on 1530 AM or by logging on to www.roundrockexpress.com.
