Chattanooga Lookouts News Release
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Seth Loman collected three hits, including a home run, to lead the Barons to a 15-hit effort in which they came away with a 7-4 win over the Lookouts in Thursday night action at AT&T Field.
Both teams' respective offenses remained dormant until the fourth inning. Christian Marrero and Jon Gilmore led off the top portion of the inning with doubles, resulting in the first run of the game. Seth Loman then blasted a two-run shot to officially open up the flood gates. The hits kept on rolling, as the Barons were able to manufacture two more runs in the inning off of Lookouts starting pitcher Will Savage (12-4). Greg Paiml contributed with a run-resulting sacrifice fly, while Alden Carrithers contributed with an RBI double to put the score at 5-0.
The Lookouts entered the scoreboard in the bottom portion of the fourth on doubles from Travis Denker and Corey Smith.
Chattanooga added another run in the sixth on a Travis Denker sacrifice fly, which was prefaced by a triple from Alex Castellanos.
The resilient Lookouts crept closer in the seventh inning with a two-run homer from Brian Cavazos-Galvez. The home run was his tenth of the season and third round-tripper over the last two games.
With the Lookouts breathing down their necks, the Barons added two important insurance runs in the top of the ninth. A pair of RBI singles from Jon Gilmore and Jake Oester put the score at 7-4.
Miguel Socolovich shut out the Lookouts in the final two frames to earn his first save of the win.
Hector Santiago (5-4) was credited with the win for the Barons. In seven innings of work, he surrendered four runs on six hits and four walks, while striking out seven.
The Chattanooga Lookouts and Birmingham Barons will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
