
Barnstormers Sweep Two Game Series

Bridgewater, NJ- The Lancaster Barnstormers defeated the Somerset Patriots 9-1 before 6,202 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday night.
Lancaster jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning. An RBI single by Fernando Seguignol and a bases loaded walk by Aaron Herr gave the Barnstormers a 2-0 advantage.
Somerset scored in the bottom half of the first when Elliott Ayala came around to score after Fernando Cortez hit into a double play to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Barnstormers added to their lead in the sixth after Travis Metcalf (4) drove a two-run homerun over the left field wall to make the score 4-1.
A two-run home by Seguignol (14) in the top of the eighth inning tacked on a few more runs for Lancaster and made the score 6-1.
RBI base hits by Wayne Lydon and Tommy Everidge gave Lancaster a 9-1 lead heading into the bottom of the ninth inning.
Lancaster starter Cesar Carrillo (4-10) got the win after allowing a run in eight innings pitched. Somerset starter Derell McCall (4-7) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on give hits in 7.2 innings of work.
