November 30, 2009 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers Head Coach and Director of Football Operations John Gregory announced Monday afternoon that the team has reached agreement with former Iowa State standout WR Todd Blythe for the 2010 season. The 2010 season will be Blythe's first playing Arena Football. The Indianola, IA native and former Cyclone currently holds numerous receiving records at Iowa State, including most career touchdown receptions with 31.

Blythe (6-5, 212) red-shirted his initial year at Iowa State ('03) before becoming a permanent part of the Cyclones offensive attack in 2004. Over his four-year career at Iowa State, Blythe recorded 176 receptions for 3,096 yards and 31 touchdowns. He was named to the big 12 all rookie team in 2004 and to the big-12 all-first team in 2005.

"I'm extremely excited to add Todd to our roster for the 2010 season. He will provide our Quarterbacks a big target, and I think he's going to develop into a great Arena Football player," said Gregory. Blythe is the 25th player to agree to terms with the Barnstormers for the upcoming season.

The free-agency signing period for Arena Football One is underway. Expect more announcements from Coach Gregory and the Barnstormers in the coming days. Don't forget that 2010 Iowa Barnstormers season tickets remain on sale for as low as $96.00 per seat! Don't miss a minute of the action this season.
