Milwaukee Mustangs News Release

MILWAUKEE - As the Milwaukee Iron roster continues to grow in preparation for the 2010 Arena Football season, the team has added an athletic defensive back in former Mississippi State University Bulldog Jasper O'Quinn. O'Quinn is a versatile multi-sport athlete with outstanding speed, strength and leaping ability that brings elite-level Division I college football experience to the Iron.

"It is important to have athleticism in your defensive backfield, especially in Arena Football where the defensive backs are targeted on almost every play. Jasper was a starter at defensive back for two seasons at Mississippi State University in the SEC, arguably college football's most athletic conference. He is an aggressive player that possesses a great deal of athleticism. We feel Jasper will be a nice addition to the group of defensive backs that our coaching staff is putting together. The reputation that Coach Landsee and his staff have built over the last several years of developing players has enabled the Iron to attract the best young talent in the business, as evidenced by this latest signing," stated Iron general manager Jason Clark.

Jasper O'Quinn played defensive back at Mississippi State University and made an immediate impression on the Bulldog coaching staff with his aggressive style of play. He saw action after right away after arriving on campus in 2007 and developed into the starter at one cornerback position. O'Quinn had a standout senior season in 2008 in the MSU defensive backfield and was rewarded with an invitation to the Minnesota Vikings Free Agent Camp in May of 2009, following the most recent NFL Draft.

O'Quinn was named All-Region his freshmen year at NCAA Division II power Delta State University, then transferred Co-Lin Community College his sophomore season. He earned All-Region and All-State honors before signing with Mississippi State over other offers from LSU, West Virginia, and Southern Mississippi.

O'Quinn was an outstanding three-sport (football, basketball, baseball) athlete at Franklin County High School in Meadville, Mississippi. He set several school records in both football and baseball at FCHS and was named the Daily Leader's 2005 Offensive Player of the Year in football. O'Quinn participated in the Atlanta Braves pre-draft workout following his high school graduation in Pearl, Mississippi.
