All-Pro Receiver Signs With Iron
November 30, 2009 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Milwaukee Mustangs News Release
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Iron have added a dominating Arena Football receiver to the roster today in Nate Forse. Forse, 25, rewrote the record book in almost every receiving category for the Green Bay Blizzard in 2009, setting new regular-season team marks for receptions (131), receiving yards (1,875) and receiving touchdowns (28); he was also Green Bay's top scorer with 168 points.
"I am excited to play for Coach Landsee and the Milwaukee Iron on the Arena 1 level. It will be nice to see some familiar faces from Green Bay on our roster and be reunited with the coaching staff I played for last season," said Forse. "I'm really looking forward to coming to Milwaukee. I like Milwaukee because it reminds me a lot of the Pittsburgh area where I grew up."
Coaches and scouts in the AF1 are not the only football experts that have noticed the talent-level of Nate Forse. Although he has signed an Arena Football 1 contract with Milwaukee for 2010, Forse is scheduled to participate in a private workout with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL at their complex this December.
"I am thrilled to have Nate Forse join the Milwaukee Iron, especially after his all-pro year with Green Bay. He played extremely well in the three games against Milwaukee last year and caught my attention right away as a player that would impress Iron fans," said Milwaukee Iron general manager Jason Clark. "Nate has all of the physical tools to be a dominating receiver at any professional level. He really impressed me last season with his ability to get open in the middle of the field by running precise routes and making tough catches in traffic; plus, he is a monster near the goal line. I am looking forward to seeing him showcase his talent on a bigger stage with us in Arena Football 1. As far as Nate's upcoming NFL workout with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Iron are very supportive and hope he makes quite an impression."

Forse is a sure-handed pass-catcher with an outstanding size and speed combination. He quickly releases into routes and extends to make receptions away from his body while displaying excellent hand-eye coordination. He displays a good head for the game and tremendous field awareness. He will begin his second year of Arena Football play in 2010.
Arena Football Experience
Forse was a first-team all-conference selection as a rookie in 2009 with the Green Bay Blizzard of the arenafootball2 league. He amassed team single-season receiving records in three different categories, averaging 117.2 receiving yards per game while also leading the team in scoring. In three post-season games he continued his domination by accumulating 25 receptions for 335 yards, accounting for 111.7 receiving yards per game and eight touchdowns.
Other Professional Experience
Forse's unique size and strength combination has caught the attention of several professional organizations in various leagues following his decorated college career. Among teams that have evaluated him in workouts or mini-camps over the past 18 months have been the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos, the Arena Football League's Colorado Crush, Chicago Rush, Columbus Destroyers, Cleveland Gladiators and Philadelphia Soul.
College Experience
Forse enjoyed a rare six-year college football career. He spent three seasons with the West Virginia Mountaineers playing for then-head coach Rich Rodriguez. In 2002 he redshirted. He played in seven games in 2003 as a redshirt freshman, culminating his season with an appearance in the Gator Bowl. Forse played in two games in 2004 before being medically redshirted with a hamstring injury. Following the Mountaineers 2004 Gator Bowl appearance he transferred to California University of Pennsylvania for his final three collegiate seasons (2005-07). As a wide receiver and wingback, Forse earned first team All-PSAC recognition as a sophomore and senior, second team honors as a junior and played in the Cactus Bowl, a Division II all-star game. He graduated from Cal in 2007 with a degree in Sports Management. As a three-time all-conference selection he posted career-high numbers of 59 receptions, 804 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior after 50 receptions, 768 yards and three touchdowns the previous year.
