Lancaster Stormers News Release
LANCASTER, Pa. - Barnstormers fans have asked for later game times on Sundays and we're doing exactly that. The team is changing the times for two of its Sunday home games and providing giveaways each night. The games against the York Revolution on Aug. 30 and against the Long Island Ducks on Sept. 6 have been moved to 6:05 p.m. They were originally scheduled to begin at 1:35 p.m.
On Aug. 30, the first 2,000 adults will receive a "Go Barnstormers! Beat York!" T-shirt as the War of the Roses Rivalry is renewed for the final time at Clipper Magazine Stadium in 2009. The Barnstormers have won nine of the 14 games against the Revolution this season and can clinch the annual Community Cup series with two victories that weekend. On Sept. 6, the first 1,500 fans attending the game against the Ducks will receive a Barnstormers logo baseball.
"We always value input from the fans," general manager Vince Bulik said. "Some have told us they prefer evening games on Sundays. We're looking at this as a last hurrah for summer before school really gets going. This change also allows us to offer more giveaways, which are always popular."
Tickets are still available for both of these games at www.lancasterbarnstormers.com, by calling 717-509-HITS or by visiting the stadium box office during regular business hours.
