
Barnstormers Add Two More to "New Look" Defense

DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers Head Coach and Director of Football Operations John Gregory announced this morning that the Arena Football league franchise has reached agreement with LB Deon Hightower along with DT Joe Bradley.
Hightower (6-3, 238) joins the Barnstormers following a four year collegiate career at the University of Minnesota. He appeared in 50 career games for the Golden Gophers from 2005-08, and was a four year letter winner. During his senior season Hightower started all 13 games, finishing fourth on the team with 67 tackles, including 8.5 for a loss and 2.5 sacks. He was also named to the academic All Big-10 team. The Mansfield, TX native also appeared in the Texas Coca Cola All-Star game following his senior season in 2003.
Bradley, (6-3, 295) most recently attended the Indianapolis Colts training camp in both 2007 and 2008, but failed to make the final roster. He originally was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, following 3 seasons at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. During his senior season in 2006, Bradley collected 17 tackles including 7 for a loss and 5 sacks. The Compton, CA native appeared in 32 total games for the Ragin' Cajuns from 2004-06.
Hightower and Bradley are part of a group of 35 players that will report to the Barnstormers training camp this February to compete for a spot with the club. The 2011 Arena Football League season kicks off this spring, with the Barnstormers home opener set for March 25th when they host the defending AFL champion Spokane Shock.
