Barnstormers Add Defensive Back

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive back Dashawn Benton to the 2023 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.
Benton (6-0, 200, East Carolina) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his first season with the team. Collegiately, Benton spent four seasons at East Carolina University. During his time with the Pirates, Benton appeared in 40 games where he collected 79 total tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one touchdown.
"Dashawn has experience at every level of professional football," said Head Coach Mogensen. "He is versatile as a defensive back with the ability to play multiple positions, we think his size and physicality will help fill some holes we have had these first couple games"
