Ifl Week Three Recap
April 5, 2023 - Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release
Week three of the IFL season is officially in the books as the big weekend of games concluded on Monday night. The first of six games was played in Green Bay, as the Iowa Barnstormers visited the Blizzard on Friday Night.
The favored Barnstormers lost a 44-25 contest. Green Bay took the lead midway through the first quarter and never surrendered it. Ja'Rome Johnson had 148 passing yards and 48 rushing yards.
Quad City snagged their second win of the season as they snuck past the Sioux Falls Storm. The game was knotted up at 20-20 at the half, but a Quad City safety made the difference as they walked away with a 36-34 win. E.J. Hilliard led the game with 139 passing yards.
The Frisco Fighters stayed undefeated with their 60-55 win over Duke City. Nate Davis passed for 177 yards and four touchdowns in the losing effort. TJ Edwards had 137 yards through the air.
The reigning IFL champions, Northern Arizona Wranglers, grabbed their first win of the 2023 season. NAZ defeated a hot Vegas team 48-42. Daquan Neal had another good game with 158 yards passing and three touchdowns. But only putting up 14 points in the first half came back to bite them.
Massachusetts and Bay Area played in a thriller that saw Bay Area explode for 31 points in the second quarter. They were led by Justin Rankin with 69 yards on the ground. However, the Panthers lack of offensive production in the second half allowed the Pirates to steal a 59-52 game from them.
The week concluded with Tucson playing their first game of the season on the road in San Diego. The Strike Force dropped their second game to start the year as Tucson and Ramone Atkins took home a 35-16 win.
The action continues this week with a four-game slate that starts on Saturday as the Tulsa Oilers visit Duke City. For details and the full schedule, go to www.GoIFL.com.
