Dwayne Pollok continues to etch his place in Atlantic League history.

The right-hander battled his way to his 12th consecutive win and 18th victory of the season as the Lancaster Barnstormers edged the Bridgeport Bluefish, 3-2, in front of 6,110 Saturday evening at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

With the win, Pollok tied the league record for wins in a season. Dan Reichert won 18 for the 2010 Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

Pollok also struck out five, tying Mark Brackman's franchise mark of 119, set in 2012.

The Saturday win did not come easily, however. Pollok allowed a leadoff single in five consecutive innings and nine hits total over his 7 2/3 innings of work. He allowed a run in the second on a single by James Simmons, a wild pitch and Eddie Rogers' line drive base hit over third baseman Olmo Rosario. In the fourth, after a double play had wiped out a leadoff single by Luis Lopez, Simmons connected for a towering home run to left, his fifth of the season.

There was deep peril in the sixth. With the score tied, 2-2, Lopez reached on a leadoff ground single to left, and Alexis Gomez followed with a double to left center. That's when Pollok found his rhythm. He got Simmons to hit a bouncer right at shortstop Joe Thurston for the first out. Pollok fanned Yusuf Carter for the second and got Rogers on a pitch in the dirt for a third.

The Lancaster ace cruised through the seventh and picked up the first two outs in the eighth before being lifted for the bullpen.

Lancaster's offense provided just enough support. Jerry Owens led off the game with a line drive home run off the top of the picnic tents in right. The Barnstormers forged the 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth when Rosario singled to right, was forced at second by Thurston and scored when Ryan Harvey screamed a double into the left field corner.

The tie was broken in the seventh. Anthony Contreras grounded a single up the middle with one out. He took off for second, and Carter's throw bounced away from Juan Martinez, enabling the runner to take third. Gustavo Molina lofted a shallow fly to left for the second out. Contreras was sent and scored as Austin Krum's throw kicked away from Carter.

Ross Peeples recorded the final out of the eighth on one pitch, retiring Gomez on a liner to deep center. For the second consecutive night, Yoslan Herrera yielded only a two-out single in the ninth, picking up his seventh consecutive save and 10th of the year.

Mike Parisi (6-15) went the distance on a six-hitter in the loss. He walked none and struck out three.

Lancaster will wrap up the three-game series with Bridgeport on Sunday evening. Jeff Bennett (0-0) will make the start for the Barnstormers against lefty Hunter Jones (6-12). Fans may bring their dogs to the ballpark on Bark in the Park Night. The game broadcast will be available on 1390-AM, WLAN; 1600-AM, WPDC; 1390wlan.com or the I Heart Radio cell phone app.
