
Barfield Lifts Skeeters, Loop Ties Record In Extra Inning Victory:

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Sugar Land Skeeters defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish 3-2 in extras on Tuesday night moving the club to 19-13 in the second half and a half game back of York for 1st place in the Freedom Division.
Roy Merritt had another quality start, going six innings and only giving up a run on six hits with a strikeout and a walk.
Ricky Hague gave the Skeeters an early 2-0 lead on a two-run homer in the 1st and set his career season high in RBI with 56. Jose Cuevas scored on an error in the 3rd that got Bluefish back within a run. Luis Hernandez' sac-fly RBI in the 5th scored Luis Nunez to tie the game at 2-2. Jeremy Barfield broke the tie in the 11th with a solo shot that put the Skeeters up 3-2.
Derrick Loop came on in the 9th to record his 25th save which ties him with Gary Majewski for the most saves by a Skeeter in a single season.
