Montgomery Bears News Release
The largest health care provider in central Alabama has partnered with Montgomery's new professional indoor football team. Baptist Health has signed a three-year agreement to serve as the "exclusive and official health care provider" of the Montgomery Maulers.
As the official health care provider, Baptist Health will provide health care services for the Maulers' players and staff. In addition, several Baptist Health partners are also sponsoring the team. Dr. Michael Freeman and Dr. Stephen Samelson of Southern Orthopedic Surgeons will serve as the team's official doctors. HealthSouth will provide the team's athletic trainer and SportsFirst will provide club memberships.
"Baptist Health, along with our partners Southern Orthopedic Surgeons, HealthSouth and SportsFirst, are proud to support the NIFL and are excited the franchise has established a team in Montgomery," said Baptist Health vice president Julia Ventress. "As the official health care sponsors, we are committed to providing the Maulers, along with all of Montgomery and the surrounding area, with the best health care available in central Alabama."
"Realizing our players will have access to quality doctors and the best medical treatment available is very exciting as we strive to put a championship team on the field," said Maulers' owner Jamie Lamunyon.
Baptist Health and its partners will receive major advertising and promotions throughout the Maulers' season, including in-arena signage, program advertising, radio exposure and hospitality events for employees. The Baptist Health logo will also be prominently featured on the Maulers' game jerseys and on the official game balls.
An expansion franchise in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL), the Montgomery Maulers offer seven nights of hard-hitting, high-scoring, "edge of your seat" excitement at historic Garrett Coliseum. The Maulers play their first-ever game on March 19 at Kissimmee, FL. The first home game is Saturday, April 2 against the SW Louisiana Swashbucklers. Season tickets start at $49 and are available by calling (334) 277-1881, visiting the Maulers' office at Eastdale Mall, or logging on to montgomerymaulers.com.
