Montgomery Bears News Release
MONTGOMERY --- First baseman Chris Nowak has activated from the disabled list, the Montgomery Biscuits announced Saturday, with catcher Matt Spring assigned to Class-A Columbus to make room for Nowak on the Biscuits' active roster.
Nowak, 24, dislocated his left shoulder while sliding into second base in Montgomery's series finale at Mobile on July 7. In 83 games with the Biscuits, the Pewaukee, WI, native was batting .294 with three home runs, 37 RBIs, 16 stolen bases and a team-leading 45 walks.
Spring batted .165 for the Biscuits in 29 games, hitting four home runs and driving in 11 runs. He had been called up directly from Columbus on May 23 when catcher Josh Arhart was placed on the disabled list.
Montgomery's roster presently consists of 24 active players.
