Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho -December 15, 2009-For the third straight year, Bank of the Cascades and Idaho Stampede are joining forces with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho to help make a wish come true for a medically-fragile child.

‘Swishes for Wishes' is an annual campaign sponsored by Idaho Stampede and Bank of the Cascades. For every three-point basket made during the 2009-10 basketball season, Bank of the Cascades donates ten dollars to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho. During 2008-09, the Stampede players totaled 338 three-point baskets over the six month season to raise approximately $3,500 for the program. Bank of the Cascades and Idaho Stampede will present a check to Make-A-Wish Foundation in mid-March 2010.

Nicolas, a 13-year-old Nampa resident, is the recipient of the 2010 donation. He is being treated for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a condition that affects his joints, skin and blood vessels. Nicolas will have his wish fulfilled in February 2010 when he and his family travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando.

"Swishes for Wishes is a wonderful way to bring the community and the team together in a fun and competitive contest, and at the same time, bring joy to a child and family struggling with health concerns," said Mike Mooney, president, Bank of the Cascades Idaho region. "One of our core values is to enrich our communities, and we do that by working with nonprofit organizations that address critical local issues. We're pleased to partner with Idaho Stampede in helping Nicolas and his family."

"We are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful program again this year and to help provide a unique experience for Nicolas and his family", said Steve Brandes, president of the Idaho Stampede. "We know that Coach Mac's high scoring offensive run and gun style along with the players' ability to make outside shots will definitely raise a lot of funds for Nicolas' desired wish."
