
Mad Ants Pierce the Armor for Home Win

Ft. Wayne, IN (December 15, 2009) - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants (3-4) upended the Springfield Armor (0-7) 123-107 Tuesday night with seven different players hitting double figures, keeping the visiting team winless.
The Mad Ants came out firing on all cylinders in the first half shooting 27 of 48 from the field and leading by as much as 24. The team also dispersed the ball well with all five starters scoring within the first 12 minutes of the game. Ron Howard's 15 points and Rod Wilmont's 14 led the locked-in Mad Ants to a 64 to 45 lead at half time. Armor forward Morris Almond led all first half scorers with 16 points.
After starting the second half with a technical foul free throw by Kyle McAlarney, the Mad Ants continued their hot play and cruised to the 16 point win. Ron Howard and Rod Wilmont led the Mad Ants with 23 points, while Rob Kurz recorded a double-double scored 22 points with 11 rebounds. Kyle McAlarney had a career high with 9 assists to go with his 13 points.
Morris Almond had a fantastic game for the Armor with 39 points, and TJ Cummings added a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Up next, the Mad Ants travel to Springfield, Massachusetts for a rematch with the Armor on Friday, December 18th at 7:00pm.
